Real Estate in Europe and Beyond: Buying, Selling and Investing – €49 for the full course

MediaIEU Practical Course

Real Estate in Europe and Beyond: Buying, Selling and Investing

100 Lectures — €49 for the Complete Course

Buying or selling real estate in another country requires an understanding of much more than the price of an apartment, house, plot of land or commercial property.

Procedures for checking a property, requirements for buyers and sellers, the roles of notaries and lawyers, public registers, preliminary agreements, deposit rules, taxation, registration of ownership and final payment procedures vary from country to country.

Investment offers involving overseas property require particular attention. The advertised return may not include taxes, commissions, management fees, renovation and maintenance costs, periods without tenants, exchange-rate movements or difficulties associated with subsequently selling the property.

The MediaIEU practical course “Real Estate in Europe and Beyond: Buying, Selling and Investing” brings together a general framework for conducting real estate transactions, individual lectures on European countries, the purchase of property in other regions of the world and the assessment of overseas investment offers.

This is not a collection of general recommendations such as “check the documents” or “consult a specialist”.

The lectures examine the specific stages of a transaction, local documents, public registers, mandatory checks, the roles of the notary, lawyer and estate agent, taxes, commissions, payment procedures, registration of ownership and the risks specific to each country.

Once payment has been made, the buyer purchases the complete course of 100 lectures. No additional payment is required for individual countries, subsequent lectures, investment materials or the lecture on purchasing property outside Europe.

How the Course Is Structured

The course consists of 100 lectures:

  • 50 core and practical lectures;
  • 49 individual lectures on European countries;
  • 1 individual lecture on purchasing real estate outside Europe.

Every Friday, the buyer receives two new lectures by email:

  1. one core or practical lecture;
  2. one lecture on an individual country or geographical area.

The first delivery is made on the first Friday following payment.

The complete course is delivered over 50 weeks. However, payment purchases all 100 lectures from the outset.

10.6. Sending the materials to the email address provided by the Buyer when making payment constitutes proper fulfilment of MediaIEU’s obligation to provide the relevant part of the Digital Product.

10.7. The fact that the Buyer has not actually opened or reviewed the sent message does not mean that the materials were not provided.

10.8. If the Buyer provided an incorrect email address, the materials are sent again after the payment has been confirmed and the correct email address has been received.

10.9. Resending materials to the correct email address is not considered a new purchase.

10.10. Resending materials does not change the general Professional Course delivery schedule.

10.11. If the Buyer’s email address changes after the purchase, the Buyer must notify MediaIEU of the new email address and provide the information required to identify the payment.

10.12. MediaIEU may refrain from changing the recipient’s email address until the Buyer’s identity or the relevant payment has been confirmed.

11.4. Delayed materials are sent to the Buyer after the circumstances preventing delivery have been resolved.

11.5. A minor technical delay in delivery does not in itself constitute MediaIEU’s refusal to perform the agreement.

12. Educational and Informational Nature of the Materials

12.1. MediaIEU Professional Courses and Practical Lectures are educational and informational in nature.

12.2. The materials are intended for study, analysis and expansion of the Buyer’s knowledge.

12.3. The materials do not constitute a promise or guarantee of income, employment, conclusion of a transaction, sale of property, purchase of property, establishment of a business, increase in profit or achievement of any other specific result.

12.4. The actual result of applying the information depends on the Buyer’s circumstances, decisions, actions, experience, country, market, applicable law and other factors beyond MediaIEU’s control.

12.5. Materials relating to real estate, vehicles, employment, entrepreneurship, finance, pricing and other practical topics do not constitute individual legal, tax, investment, banking, notarial or other regulated professional advice.

12.6. General information concerning transaction procedures, documents, payments, registration of rights, taxes or the requirements of particular countries is provided for educational purposes.

12.7. Legislation, administrative procedures, taxes, fees and the requirements of banks, notaries, registers and public authorities may change.

12.8. The Buyer makes decisions independently and independently verifies the current requirements applicable to their specific situation.

12.9. MediaIEU is not a party to transactions entered into by the Buyer on the basis of or after studying the materials.

12.10. MediaIEU does not represent the Buyer before banks, notaries, employers, sellers, buyers, public authorities or other persons unless a separate service has been expressly agreed in writing.

13. Right of Withdrawal and Digital Content

13.1. Professional Courses, Practical Lectures and related materials constitute digital content supplied without a tangible medium.

13.2. The Buyer confirms that they understand the digital nature of the purchased product and the procedure for sending it by email.

13.3. If the Buyer is a Consumer and the purchase is made at a distance, the right of withdrawal applies in accordance with applicable consumer-protection legislation.

13.4. Before the supply of digital content begins, the Buyer may submit a request to withdraw from the purchase in the cases and within the periods provided by applicable law.

13.5. The Buyer may give prior express consent for the supply of digital content to begin before the end of the statutory withdrawal period.

13.6. The Buyer confirms that they understand that, after the supply of digital content begins, the right of withdrawal may be lost where the Buyer has given prior express consent and acknowledged the consequences of that consent.

13.7. For a Professional Course, the supply of digital content begins when the first lectures of the purchased course are sent to the Buyer.

13.8. For a Practical Lecture, the supply of digital content begins when the relevant Practical Lecture or the first part of its materials is sent to the Buyer.

13.9. If the right of withdrawal has not been lost in the manner prescribed by law, the mandatory provisions of consumer-protection legislation shall apply.

13.10. Restrictions on the right of withdrawal do not restrict the Buyer’s statutory rights in the event of non-supply, damage or non-conformity of the paid digital content.

13.11. The following separate confirmation may be used on the Payment Page:

“I agree that the supply of the purchased digital content may begin before the end of the withdrawal period, and I understand that once the supply of the Digital Materials has begun, I may lose my right of withdrawal in accordance with applicable law.”

13.12. The confirmation referred to in Clause 13.11 may be provided through a separate mandatory field, checkbox or another explicit action by the Buyer on the Payment Page.

14. Refunds

14.1. A refund request may be submitted before the supply of digital content begins, provided that the Buyer’s right of withdrawal remains available under applicable law.

14.2. Once the supply of digital content has begun, payment is not refunded where the Buyer has given prior express consent to the beginning of supply and acknowledged the loss of the right of withdrawal, except in cases provided by applicable law and this section.

14.3. A refund may be issued in the following cases:

a) an erroneous payment;

b) duplicate payment for the same Digital Product;

c) technical impossibility of providing the paid Digital Product;

d) permanent discontinuation of a Professional Course before all lectures included in it have been provided;

e) inability to replace damaged or unavailable Digital Materials;

f) another confirmed error on the part of MediaIEU or the payment service used;

g) other cases expressly provided by applicable law.

14.4. If the Buyer paid twice for the same Digital Product, the duplicate payment may be refunded after verification.

14.5. If the materials were not received because the Buyer provided an incorrect email address, payment is not refunded automatically. The materials are sent again after payment has been confirmed and the correct email address has been received.

14.6. If part of a Professional Course has already been provided and further delivery becomes permanently impossible for a reason attributable to MediaIEU, the amount of the refund is determined with regard to the unprovided part of the course and the mandatory requirements of applicable law.

14.7. The mere absence of the result expected by the Buyer after studying the materials does not constitute grounds for a refund.

14.8. The Buyer’s disagreement with the conclusions, author’s position or methodology presented in the materials does not constitute grounds for a refund, provided that the content corresponds to the product description.

14.9. A refund request must contain information enabling the Buyer and the payment to be identified.

14.10. For verification purposes, MediaIEU may request the email address, payment date, product title, payment amount and proof of payment.

14.11. A refund is made by a method available in view of the original payment method and the rules of the relevant bank and payment service.

14.12. The time required for refunded funds to be credited may depend on the Buyer’s bank or payment service.

15. Conformity of the Digital Materials

15.1. MediaIEU undertakes to provide Digital Materials corresponding to the description of the purchased Professional Course or Practical Lecture.

15.2. Materials are considered to correspond to the description if they relate to the stated topic, include the stated principal sections and are provided in the specified digital format.

15.3. Minor differences in design, file name, number of pages, file size or the structure of individual sections do not constitute non-conformity, provided that the content and purpose of the product remain unchanged.

15.4. If a file is damaged, cannot be opened or was sent incompletely due to a cause attributable to MediaIEU, the relevant file is sent again.

15.5. The Buyer must report the technical issue and identify the particular file that cannot be opened or is missing.

15.6. MediaIEU may provide a corrected version of the file, a new link, a new archive or the same material in another available digital format.

15.7. The inability to open a standard PDF file or ZIP archive due to the Buyer’s device, software or settings does not in itself constitute non-conformity of the Digital Product.

16. Right to Use the Materials

16.1. The Buyer receives a limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the paid Digital Materials personally.

16.2. The Buyer does not receive exclusive rights to the materials.

16.3. The materials are intended for the Buyer’s personal reading, study, analysis and application of the knowledge obtained.

k) circumventing technical access restrictions or protection applied to the materials;

l) providing access to the materials through a shared, collective or public email account where the relevant product was purchased for personal use;

m) using the materials to provide paid instruction to third parties without the written permission of the rights holder.

16.6. Quotation of short excerpts is permitted within the limits established by applicable law, provided that the author and source are clearly indicated.

16.7. Receipt of the materials by email does not transfer to the Buyer ownership of the intellectual-property rights, course structure, methodology or product content.

16.8. A violation of the rules governing use may result in termination of further delivery of the materials and the application of copyright-protection measures in accordance with applicable law.

17. Copyright

17.6. Any use of the materials beyond personal study is permitted only with the written permission of the rights holder, except where expressly permitted by applicable law.

17.7. The names MediaIEU, the relevant products, original models and materials may not be used in a manner that creates a false impression of partnership, licensing, endorsement or authorship by MediaIEU or Iv.Spolan.

17.8. The purchase of a Professional Course or Practical Lecture does not grant the Buyer the right to act on behalf of MediaIEU, represent MediaIEU or describe themselves as an official instructor, consultant, representative or partner of MediaIEU.

18. Technical Requirements

18.6. The Buyer independently ensures that sufficient storage space is available for saving the materials.

18.7. MediaIEU is not responsible for deletion of the materials from the Buyer’s device, loss of access to the email account or loss of files after they have been properly sent.

19.5. MediaIEU is not required to send the materials to a new email address before the verification process has been completed.

19.6. A delay caused by the Buyer providing an incorrect email address or incomplete information does not constitute a breach of the delivery schedule by MediaIEU.

20. Personal Data

20.1. The Buyer’s personal data is processed to the extent necessary to place and confirm the payment, provide the Digital Materials, communicate with the Buyer, fulfil accounting and legal obligations and protect the legitimate interests of MediaIEU.

20.2. Personal data is processed in accordance with applicable law and the MediaIEU Privacy Policy.

20.3. For the purpose of fulfilling the purchase, the Buyer’s name, email address, payment information, information about the purchased product, payment date, amount and delivery history may be processed.

21.6. The provisions of this section do not restrict liability that cannot be restricted under mandatory provisions of applicable law.

22.4. If the alleged breach is not confirmed, delivery of the materials resumes.

22.5. Termination of delivery due to the Buyer’s material breach of these Terms does not automatically create a right to a refund.

23. Changes to the Programme and Materials

23.1. MediaIEU may clarify the titles of individual lectures, the order of internal sections, the design and the format of the materials.
