When you assess your relationship with this person as a whole, what do you look at first in their actual behaviour?
If you had to decide today about the future of this relationship, how would you justify your decision?
What is the main sign for you that this relationship is genuinely suitable for a life together?
How do money, housing, shared daily life or material support affect your overall assessment of this relationship?

What the test assesses

The “Assessment of the Chosen Life Partner” test is designed to analyse how closely the specific partner already chosen corresponds to the person’s life goals, needs, everyday habits, financial circumstances and vision of a shared future.

It helps determine whether the assessment of the chosen partner is based on genuine knowledge of the person, shared experience and an understanding of the possible consequences, or whether it is influenced primarily by strong feelings, fear of loneliness, age-related pressure, family expectations, idealisation, financial dependence, habit, jealousy or reluctance to lose the years already invested in the relationship.

The test does not choose a partner on behalf of the participant and does not create an automatic ranking of possible candidates. It analyses a specific person with whom the participant is already in a relationship or is considering a long-term relationship, living together, marriage, having children, a shared budget, purchasing a home or creating jointly owned property.

The main question is whether the chosen partner corresponds to the person’s real life and future plans or whether the assessment is based primarily on hopes, expectations and an image of what the partner is expected to become in the future.

What assessing the chosen life partner means

Assessing the chosen life partner does not mean considering only falling in love, sexual attraction or the desire to be close to a specific person. A long-term relationship involves behaviour, personal boundaries, everyday habits, ways of making decisions, attitudes towards children, housing, relocation, work, money, responsibilities and the shared future.

A person may experience strong feelings while still not knowing how the chosen partner behaves during a conflict, financial difficulty, illness, job loss, relocation, family pressure or the need to make a difficult joint decision.

For this reason, a life partner cannot be assessed only by the strength of feelings. It is important to understand how the partner acts in real situations, which decisions they make, how they approach responsibility, whether they respect personal boundaries and whether their life goals are compatible with those of the participant.

Strong feelings may be an important part of a relationship, but on their own they do not answer questions about trust, responsibility, respect, compatibility, sexual life, money, children, housing and the ability to go through crises together.

In this test, the chosen life partner is assessed as a person with whom a shared life may be built. Feelings are therefore analysed together with the partner’s actual behaviour, joint decisions, compatibility of needs and the possible consequences of shared financial obligations.

What is examined in the test

The test assesses the chosen life partner through four areas: Behaviour, Choice, Demand and Money.

Behaviour

Behaviour shows how the participant and the chosen partner act in real situations. The test analyses behaviour in everyday life, during conflict, when agreements are broken, under family pressure and during periods of exhaustion, illness, financial difficulty, jealousy or uncertainty.

The test helps determine whether the assessment of the partner is based on their actual actions or primarily on words, promises, strong feelings and the hope that the partner will change in the future.

Choice

Choice shows how consciously the specific person has been chosen as a possible life partner. This section examines whether the participant understands the reasons for the choice, is able to take incompatibilities into account and makes the final decision independently.

It also analyses the influence of loneliness, age, family, social expectations, sexual attraction, time already invested, the partner’s status, fear of starting again and the desire to preserve the relationship at any cost.

Demand

Demand shows which real needs the person expects to fulfil in the relationship with the chosen life partner. For one person, intimacy and trust may be especially important; for another, family and children; and for someone else, stability, security, shared daily life, sexual compatibility, social status or the possibility of building a common future.

The test helps separate the participant’s real needs from desires formed by fear, comparison with other people, pressure from relatives, age-related expectations or an idea of what a correct personal life is supposed to look like.

Money

Money shows how well the participant understands the financial side of living together with the chosen partner. The test analyses income, debts, obligations, a shared budget, loans, mortgages, housing, property, business, the distribution of expenses and the financial dependence of one partner on the other.

This concerns more than the amount of income. It is important to understand how openly the partners discuss money, how they make joint decisions and whether they recognise the consequences of shared financial obligations.

What the result shows

The test result shows how strongly the assessment of the chosen life partner is based on a realistic understanding of the person, the relationship and the shared future.

It helps identify which aspects of the partner and the relationship have already been tested in real life and which still exist primarily as expectations, promises, hopes or assumptions.

The result shows the condition of four areas: Behaviour, Choice, Demand and Money. A relationship may be stable in one area while serious uncertainty remains in another.

For example, partners may understand each other well in everyday life but avoid conversations about children, money or relocation. They may experience strong attraction but be unable to manage conflict. They may have shared goals but hold different attitudes towards responsibility, expenses, debts or personal boundaries.

The test also helps identify internal reasons why a person may overestimate the chosen partner or remain in the relationship despite significant problems. These may include fear of loneliness, age-related pressure, family expectations, idealisation of the partner, the desire to save another person, financial dependence, jealousy, social status, sexual attraction or reluctance to admit that the time already invested may have been based on a mistaken choice.

The result does not give a simple instruction to preserve or end the relationship. It shows the structure of the assessment of the chosen partner, its strong points, areas of uncertainty and the factors that may distort the perception of the person.

The main purpose of the result is to help the participant assess the specific partner more fully and separate the real foundations of the relationship from external pressure, fear, habit, idealisation and expectations.

What the test is not

The test does not provide a medical, psychological or psychiatric diagnosis. It does not determine an illness, disorder, deviation or personal inadequacy in the participant or the partner.

The test does not declare one person good and the other bad. It does not assess the moral value of the partner and does not determine who is responsible for problems in the relationship.

The test does not replace a psychologist, psychotherapist, relationship counsellor, doctor, lawyer, financial specialist or another professional. If the relationship involves violence, threats, coercion, financial control, danger to health or a legal conflict, the test result is not a substitute for professional assistance.

The test does not make decisions about marriage, separation, having children, shared housing, a mortgage, a loan, a joint business or relocation.

The test operates within the Iv.Spolan model and analyses the chosen life partner through Behaviour, Choice, Demand and Money. Its purpose is to show how strongly the assessment of the partner is connected with real life and how strongly it may be influenced by feelings, expectations, pressure, fear or idealisation.

Who this test is for

The test is suitable for a person who has already chosen a specific partner as a possible life partner and wants to examine how closely this person corresponds to their life goals, needs and vision of a shared future.

It may be useful before living together, marriage, having children, relocation, establishing a shared budget, purchasing a home, taking out a mortgage or loan, creating a joint business or acquiring jointly owned property.

The test is also suitable for a person who is already in a long-term relationship but is uncertain whether the chosen life partner corresponds to their life goals, needs and vision of the future.

It may be used when a person notices that they remain in the relationship because of loneliness, age, family pressure, financial dependence, jealousy, habit, strong sexual attraction or the large amount of time already invested.

The test is intended to be completed individually. It analyses the position of one person and their perception of a specific partner and relationship. The result is not a general assessment of the couple because the second partner does not complete the test within this format.

The main purpose of the test is to show how fully the person understands the chosen life partner and how closely that partner corresponds to actual behaviour, joint decisions, needs and financial obligations.

Conclusion

Assessing the chosen life partner is connected with feelings, but it is not limited to them. A shared life involves behaviour, trust, conflict, personal boundaries, sex, children, housing, relocation, work, money, obligations and the ability to go through crises together.

A person may love their partner while still not understanding how the relationship will function in the long term. They may see the partner’s strengths but fail to notice contradictions that may emerge after living together, having children, taking out a loan or experiencing a change in life circumstances.

The important question is how strongly the assessment of the partner is based on real knowledge of their behaviour, goals, needs and attitude towards shared obligations.

When a person evaluates the partner’s actual actions, can discuss difficult subjects, understands their goals, sees incompatibilities and makes the decision without strong external pressure, the assessment of the chosen life partner has a more stable foundation.

When the assessment of the partner is formed primarily by fear of loneliness, family expectations, age, financial dependence, jealousy, idealisation, sexual attraction or reluctance to lose the years already invested, the perception of the relationship may be distorted.

The test shows how closely the chosen life partner corresponds to the participant’s real life, needs, joint decisions and the financial conditions of a shared future.
